Isaiah Thomas rejoins the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA

Isaiah Thomas, a former MVP candidate and two-time All-Star, has officially rejoined the NBA! Thomas showed signs of his former self right away after agreeing to a deal with the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate. Thomas now joins an established (fringe) title candidate as a result of his recent performances, which have drawn extensive attention.

Malik Beasley and the Phoenix Suns Sign a 10-Day Contract

In other news, Malik Beasley, a 5’9″ point guard, is expected to ink a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, according to sources who spoke with Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Suns acquire Beasley, who had been without an NBA team since the conclusion of the 2021–2022 season, when he signed short-term deals with the Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers, in that order.

Across his first three contests with the Salt Lake City Stars, Beasley showcased his skills by averaging 32 points on shooting splits of .379/.409/.941. He also contributed 5.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. Beasley’s performance on the court has proven that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Isaiah Thomas’ Decision to Join the Salt Lake City Stars

Prior to being officially announced as a Suns player, Isaiah Thomas discussed his decision to join the Salt Lake City Stars with Jay King from The Athletic. Thomas explained that he chose the Stars over the Suns because he simply loves the game too much. He believes he still has good years of basketball left in him and is determined to make the most of his opportunity.

Thomas acknowledged the challenges he has faced, particularly the hurdle of getting injured. However, he refused to give up and stayed determined to prove himself. Being 5’9″, Thomas has faced underestimation throughout his career, but he has consistently proven that he is a special player on the court.

The Sacramento Kings selected Thomas with the final choice in the 2011 NBA Draft, and he rapidly became one of the best players in the game. Before being moved to the Phoenix Suns, he played multiple seasons with the Kings where he scored a lot of points. During his two years with the Boston Celtics, Thomas was successful, averaging 25.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds.

Unfortunately, Thomas suffered a persistent hip injury during the 2017 playoff run, which impacted his performance and led to him being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Since then, he has played on various rosters, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, and New Orleans Pelicans.

Despite his ups and downs, Thomas remains grateful for the support he has received throughout his career. He appreciates everyone who has believed in his abilities and has helped him succeed.

The Playoff Push for the Phoenix Suns

With a 39-28 record, the Phoenix Suns, who are led by All-Stars Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, are presently ranked eighth in the Western Conference. They have a chance to avoid the play-in round since they are closely tied with the Sacramento Kings for the sixth spot. Just 1.5 games ahead of the Suns, the New Orleans Pelicans are currently in fifth place.

The addition of Isaiah Thomas and Malik Beasley brings valuable depth and talent to the Suns’ roster as they make their push for the playoffs. With their star players leading the way, the Suns have the potential to make a deep postseason run.

As Thomas and Beasley embark on their new journeys with the Salt Lake City Stars and the Phoenix Suns, respectively, fans eagerly await their contributions on the court. Both players have the skills and determination to make an impact and help their teams succeed.
