Los Angeles Home of Model and Actor Cara Delevingne Destroyed in Fire
Actress and model Cara Delevingne’s Los Angeles house was completely destroyed by fire on Friday. The two-story home in the Studio City area was completely destroyed by the early morning fire. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said that one firefighter was transported to a hospital in fair condition with undetermined injuries and that another individual from the house had minor smoke inhalation.
Delevingne’s Absence and Social Media Response
Delevingne, who is currently appearing in a production of “Cabaret” on London’s West End, was not at home during the fire. However, she shared several Instagram stories referring to the incident after TMZ reported that the affected house belonged to her. In one of her stories, she expressed gratitude to the firefighters and people who came to help. She also shared a photo of her two cats, assuring her followers that they were unharmed.
A Unique and Playful Home
The destroyed home was notable for its unique features and playful design elements. It was featured in a 2021 profile in Architectural Digest. The white brick house, originally built in 1941 for the von der Ahe family, founders of the Vons grocery chain, had undergone renovations by Delevingne and her designer. The backyard boasted two pools and two trampolines, while the interior included a costume room for dress-up parties, a bathroom dedicated to David Bowie, poker and billiard rooms, and even a ball pit.
In an interview with the magazine, Delevingne discussed the ball pit and said, “I just hop in the ball pit if I’m having a bad day.” Really, you can’t cry in a ball pit.” The house was an expression of Delevingne’s imaginative and lively nature.
A Career in Fashion and Acting
Delevingne, a London-born model and actor, gained widespread recognition in the early 2010s for her work in the fashion industry. She later transitioned into acting and appeared in notable films such as the 2016 DC Comics film “Suicide Squad” and director Luc Besson’s 2017 “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” In addition to her film work, Delevingne has also appeared in television series, including Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” and FX’s “American Horror Story.”
Delevingne’s representatives have not yet commented on the incident, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
